“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.” — Hebrews 13:2

We are not born angels. We become them. It is a becoming so subtle, so luminous, so inwardly expansive, that most who witness it will never see it. And yet, its effects radiate like sun through morning mist, quietly transforming everything it touches.

To become an angel on Earth is to undergo a sacred purification — not just of body, but of thought, of motive, of longing. It is to offer the self to the fire of Divine Will until all that remains is light. It is to allow suffering to become sacred, to welcome misunderstanding as a signpost, and to lose everything you want to gain everything you are.

Let us begin the path.

The Purification: Burning Away the Dross

The journey begins not with wings but with ashes. To become an angel, one must first be reduced — lovingly, patiently, ruthlessly — to what is essential.

The purification process is deeply alchemical. The ego — that heavy cloak of personal desire, validation, and ambition — must be stripped thread by thread. This means practicing self-deprivation not as punishment, but as liberation. Fasting not to punish the body, but to quiet it. Silence not to escape noise, but to attune the ears to Heaven’s subtle voice.

Desire is the great tether of this world. So the angel aspirant undergoes the sacred elimination of desire, followed by the deeper sacrifice: elimination of want. Not because things are bad, but because attachment to them clouds the inner flame. This is the beginning of “Thine will be done.”

To live not for your own script, but as a vessel through which the Divine writes its poem.

The Seeking: Listening, Watching, Walking Softly

To become an angel is to walk barefoot in a world of stones and feel only gratitude. It is to seek not answers, but understanding. To watch not with judgment, but with reverence. Every breath becomes a prayer. Every movement, a meditation.

The seeker learns to listen — to the aching silence between words, to the gentle whisper behind coincidence, to the songs of wind and shadow. The observer becomes a quiet sentinel, able to see the Divine shimmering behind even the ugliest veils.

Angels are not loud. They do not demand recognition. They glow.

Rituals of Becoming: Sacred Practices of Transformation

Angelic transformation requires sacred rhythm. Some rituals of becoming:

Daily stillness — an hour or more, in total silence, to allow the angelic to whisper. Night vigils — staying awake with the stars, practicing presence while the world sleeps. Walking barefoot — remembering the Earth is holy ground. Weeping without resistance — allowing the soul to melt, to mourn, to release. Radical forgiveness — even to those who tear at your soul. The mantra of surrender — “I am nothing, and therefore I am Yours.”

These are not done to impress, but to dissolve. Each act is a letting go of the personal in favor of the eternal.

Faithfulness: Loving All and Following the Light

Angels walk in faithfulness. They do not serve some, they serve all. They shine on the wicked and the just alike, not because both are equal, but because both are in need of healing.

To become an angel is to love everyone — not with sentimentality, but with compassion born from sacrifice.

This is perhaps the hardest initiation. The angel must be faithful even when misunderstood, mocked, or exiled. Their glow, which cannot be hidden, will disturb the darkness in others. They will be seen as “too much,” “too quiet,” “too sensitive,” “too intense.” But it is not intensity — it is light.

Angels on Earth are luminous, glowing beings — radiant not in appearance, but in presence. Their very existence becomes a benediction. And yet, they often suffer alone.

Because they are different.

And being different is the chrysalis from which the next transformation is born.

The Final Offering: ‘Thine Will Be Done’

In the final stretch of this sacred path, there is nothing left to control. The angel has no plan. They walk with the wind, go where they are needed, and speak only when the Spirit moves them.

They wake in the morning and say not, “What shall I do today?” but rather:

“Speak through me, move through me, love through me. Thy will be done.”

This surrender is not weakness. It is the peak of strength. It is the heart, having burned in the fires of purification, now beating with Divine rhythm.

Angels Among Us

They walk among us — glowing quietly, misunderstood, but never bitter. They serve in silence. They bless without being thanked. And sometimes, if you are very still, you may feel them pass — in a stranger’s eyes, in a sudden breeze, in the sense of peace that has no explanation.

“You might not know you met an angel.”

But your soul will.

To become an angel is not to escape this world, but to transfigure it from within.

You are not far.

You are already glowing.

Just keep letting go.

“He must increase, but I must decrease.” — John 3:30
